What does behavioral health treatment look like for adolescents?
Behavioral health treatment for adolescents, at any level, should be engaging, non-judgmental, and help the adolescent feel comfortable as they take the important step toward getting support. At ilearn wellness group, we do our best to provide an easy, gradual transition into program.
How involved are parents in treatment?
Parents work very closely with the treatment team to determine therapy goals, review progress, learn alongside their child, and participate in family therapy.
Does family involvement support adolescent treatment?
Family involvement and support are critical to the success of adolescent treatment. Adolescents spend significantly more time with their families than they do with their treatment team. When family members actively support and reinforce the skills learned in treatment, they play an essential role in helping their adolescent overcome mental health challenges and navigate life more effectively. Family engagement can strengthen progress, promote consistency, and contribute to long-term success in recovery and overall well-being.
How quickly can my child start treatment?
We can help you and your family enter the program within 1-2 days of making the referral.
Will my child lose social connections while in treatment?
Not necessarily. We encourage parents to keep the Child involved and connected to their community as much as tolerable during treatment. Staying involved in community activities allows the child to have a place to practice their new skills and come back and process their experience. We also encouraged patients to return to some activities after stabilizing to reestablish their community connection.
